Demons Be Gone!

This is a semi-recent (can November be called recent?) pic of Elise and Kaelene. Gosh, I haven't posted in a while! Hope you all are still hanging in there with me. Wade has most of the last months pics on his computer and I need to download them to mine. I'll be posting (hopefully) a ton of material then. Reba is probably laughing right now knowing that this may never happen. Hey, I'm trying!

So this is the post that I've been meaning to write for a while that I mentioned down below. So Kaelene goes to a wonderful Lutheran pre-school. And given that the curriculum is partially faith based, Kaelene sometimes comes home with some interesting ideas and comments. Don't get me wrong, Connor went to this pre-school too and I've loved it but yet some core doctrines that I hold dear are sometimes taught differently than I would choose to teach them. Anyway, here comes the dialoge (or at least as close as I can remember) from Kaelene on the way home from school on a random Monday in December 3008.

Kaelene to me: Mom, Jesus washed away our sins.

Me: Yes, he atoned for them didn't he? And when we are baptized our sins are all washed away.

Kaelene: Well, (a common beginning to a sentence for Kae) I don't have any sins.

Me: Reeeaaallly?

Kae: But Mom, you have tons of sins. You tell me not to do stuff and get mad at me and that is bad. That is a sin. You are a sinner!

And of course as you can imagine it went on from there. But I thought it was funny/telling that Kaelene viewed herself as having NO sins. Well, self-esteem has never been one of her issues. And for the most part, that's a good thing in my book.

I love that story - I can see it so clearly in my mind. And it's probably waiting just around the corner for me with Alex, huh?

Well I don't think you're a sinner

What's the saying? "Out of the mouths of babes..." At least you aren't posting naked pics of the kids in the bathtub like Kori! THAT would REALLY be a sin! :)

That is hilarious! She is so funny. Never a dull moment with her, I'm sure.
I love your title... must be a Weber thing because Brad will always hit our kids on the head and say Deamons Be Gone!

Kaelene sure keeps it real, doesn't she?! What cute kids! At least you never have to wonder what she's thinking about. Right?:)

Ryan read Kaelene's comments in Kaelene's voice, and it sounded like "You're a thinner." So, that's actually a compliment, right?

I'm with Kaelene -- sins are all on your head, Steph!
What a funny conversation.

How cute is she! Kids say the funniest things. Sadly, most the time they're right! I remember the day they told me my teeth were going yellow! That was it, I phoned the dentist to take care of that! It's a good thing they love us no matter what! Sounds like good news for Kiely! What a relief!
Love ya~
